Pinoytransplant Jumpman

With the resumption of the NBA and with the playoffs in full swing, there’s something for me to watch again. I don’t watch much TV, except for basketball. Of course there was the series of “The Last Dance,” a documentary about Michael Jordan’s last year with the Chicago Bulls that was aired when the NBA was on hiatus. But that’s different from the live game action, so I only saw a few of that docuseries.

Michael Jordan by the way elevated Nike to what an empire it is now. When Air Jordan brand was released and exploded in popularity when I was in college, I envy those ‘rich’ kids who wore those kicks. Jordan’s photo that was taken before the 1984 Summer Olympics is the Nike’s Jumpman logo. That silhouette image is iconic but also controversial, as the photographer who took that photo sued Nike for rights infringement.

Well, Pinoytransplant has it’s own Jumpman version and I hope there’s no controversy here. Below are some samplings:

I have used the first photo for the longest time as my profile picture for this blog. That photo was not planned and was taken on a whim, but it was a great capture. Since then I was taking these signature jump shots. Should I have my own brand?

My hops are getting lower and I don’t know how many more years I would still be able to do these jump shots. Maybe the next series would be jumping with a walking cane. Or not.
